Petrified Wood - The Bee King’s Fetish
Petrified Wood is said to occur when the Bee King, a powerful spirit who lives in the woods and governs the Queens of every hive, uses his power against a tree, turning it to stone. A piece of petrified wood is believed to retain some of the power of the Bee King, and thus has wonderful properties.
-A charm against rheumatism - it would be massaged and rubbed against aching limbs and joints
-For male virility - a piece is wrapped in red flannel and worn near the man’s man stuff to increase virility; and protect from having his nature tied.
-Protection from Lightning - a piece is wrapped in a big green leaf, such as a banana or elephant ear leaf, tied with red string, and hung in the attic or crawl space.
-Protection from Bees - a piece worn by red string visibly around the throat is alleged to act as a passport between the Bee King and his subjects, informing them to let you pass in peace.
-For Money - keeping a piece in a mason jar of change in your kitchen cupboard is believed to help draw money.
-A piece of petrified wood can be fixed with honey and whiskey, and kept in a special box with certain items, to call upon the Bee-King’s spirit when luck in money, love, or domestic defense is needed.
-To keep your husband faithful, a piece of petrified wood is wrapped with a piece of red cloth or ribbon that has your husband’s semen soaked and dried into it; tying it with 3 knots. This jar is then wrapped and sewn shut in yellow cloth with red string. This is then placed in a cedar wood box and buried at the foot of a tree that houses a bee hive. You then go back to the tree every day for 9 days, and pour a small glass of whiskey and honey for the Bee-King; and pray that just as the bees follow the Queen, may your husband follow you; and as the Bee-King made this wood eternal, so may he make your love eternal.
