Basil

Basil purifies. It removes negativity, cleanses, and freshens. Basil, hand shredded in living water until the water takes on its color; can be used to sprinkle a home to enliven the Ase; and remove stagnation. It is alleged by some to be beneficial for stomach ailments; and was once used as an antispasmodic for individuals with whooping cough.

A woman can bruised fresh basil leaves; and smear her throat with the juices, so that others find her words sweet and intoxicating, “allegedly.”

A man can wash his testicles in basil water to help promote fidelity with his spouse, “allegedly.”

Keeping basil growing by the door helps prevent certain disruptive spirits from entering; and a well tended basil by the door invites in beneficial spirits.
